Marxist Pacifists disparage 77th & 76th Anniv. of Japan A-Bombs that ended WW2

In 2021-22, the Marxists seemed to be the only ones to remember, though imperfectly, the A-Bombs of 1945. Their one  goal at these protests is  abolishing nuclear weapons.

++ Was dropping the atomic bomb justified?++

Dec. 7, 1941 (a day that would live in infamy) to Aug 6-9, 1945 (VJ Day celebrations in Times Sq). BUT, the Japanese aggression is conveniently omitted.

: Gen. Minoru Genda, who helped plan the attack on Pearl Harbor, stated at a Naval Institute event in 1969 that he was not bitter towards the U.S. for dropping the bomb on his hometown of #Hiroshima. He said “if we had the atomic bomb in 1945, we would have dropped it on you.”

The only ‘take away’ for these dedicated Marxist Pacifists is to STOP all things nuclear, demanding NYC to be a Nuclear Free Zone. SO, every August these mostly senior pacifists gather to protest nuclear weapons (AND energy).

Japanese survivors participate – but the speakers both years, were barely amplified so they were difficult to understand.

FIRST: On Aug 6, 2021, at 11 am, the 76th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki protestors gathered in the courtyard entrance to Mayor Dinkins municipal building across from City Hall.

”Join the Community of NYC Nuclear Weapons Free Heroes”

Rise and Resist-NY” Marxists demanded that NY City Council Speaker Corey Johnson pass Nuclear Disarmament Legislation Now. They chose this location because the development of the atomic bomb began across Centre street at 270 Broadway, the first headquarters of the Manhattan Project in 1942–43.

The posters focused on the American Marxist pacifists. Their speeches and posters neglected to mention the Japanese civilians victimized by their own Japanese war machine.

Video – First fellow was reading the legislation demand from his cell phone, un-amplified so audio competed with traffic.

The second was an older fellow (at 1:35) proudly told of a protest at a nuclear submarine (the USS Florida). I didn’t hear a year but I think it was 2018.

The Kings Bay Plowshares Seven. The seven Catholic plowshare activists who disarmed weapons at the Kings Bay Naval Base, Georgia in 2018  are now facing years of prison for their act of disarmament.

He said he masqueraded as one of 4 workers with hard hats who boarded the submarine …  for 25-30 minutes. Once they unfurled their protest banners, THEN security was called to remove them.  He also said, at the same time, five other protestors with hammers were damaging (a sonar sphere) and mentioned an associate who travels with a smithy  … turning weapons into plowshares; hammered into weapons of soil to create life not take life. “This is how disarmament starts”, he says. [End Video]

Turning now to the 2022 and the 77th Anniversary in Manhattan and  their nuclear anniversary weapons protest.

Aug. 5, 2022 – Outside the Japanese consulate. NYC. This year there was such an obsession with MASKING that the muffled English language interpreter was wasted. Disappointed to not get a good audio  of the survivor speakers

Video 1 –The very Left -leaning Pacifist “Raging Grannies” were the pre-speakers ‘entertainment’ outside the NYC Japanese Consulate. Mourning the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 (that ended WW2 and saved lives) the Raging Grannies (for Peace) were protesting nuclear bombs and protesting nuclear energy with “No nukes. No Nukes. No Nukes.

The conflict over ”to be nuclear or not” goes on and on. The Marxists  claim to oppose anything nuclear but they are predictably inconsistent …. a Rise and Resist-NY blind spot: a nuclear IRAN (UANI 2017)

Should we expect they will hop-a-boat to the land of Persia and vandalize their nuclear bases? How far would they get with that protest action.

The real enemies of peace go unchallenged.

71st Anniv. Hiroshima / Nagasaki (No Nukes Now!) Apology Press Conf.

August 5, 2016. NYC. The 71st Annual “Apology Press Conference”, outside the Japanese Consulate.

nagasaki 1
The hard-core Leftists demanded that the American Government, and the American people, apologize for dropping the A-bombs on Hiroshima & Nagasaki in August of 1945.Apologize for Taking Action, a PEACE Action, to end four years of a brutal war in the Pacific; a war that had no end in sight.

A WAR that started, for the U.S., when the Imperial Japanese forces attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor (without warning) on Dec 7, 1941, “A Day that will live in Infamy“.

By 1945, it took the bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki to put an end to not four, but actually eight years of the Japanese War in the Pacific. After the bombs were dropped VJ Day came quickly. WW II was finally OVER! Peace was now possible.

Yet, according to these “pacifists”, dropping the A-bombs on Japan was an
unnecessary, evil act; “a catastrophic wrong”. NUKES were NOT the ANSWER.

[Follow Link for Google Doc of “Why Truman Dropped The Bomb”]

Fact: the Imperial Japanese war-machine was the aggressor in that horrid war. But, the hard-core AMERICAN Leftist/Progs were laser-focused on the U.S. only: “America must Apologize!”
Did the Japanese press, reporting on Hiroshima & Nagasaki, acknowledge their country’s deliberate actions in December of ’41, that lead to those fateful days in August of ’45?

Perhaps not, since they were only able to interview the very anti-American Leftists and the American press was a no-show,
No one on-hand to challenge the lies. The facts, history be damned.

“… from the invasion of China in 1937 to the end of World War II.  The Japanese military regime murdered near 3,000,000 to over 10,000,000 people, most probably almost 6,000,000 Chinese, Indonesians, Koreans, Filipinos, and Indochinese, among others, including Western prisoners of war.”

In speech after speech, “NO one should have a nuclear bomb”: China, Russia. NoKo. Pakistan. India. France. the U.K., the U.S. …. But….
What about IRAN?  If only there had been some protestors like this man at   a pro-Israel/ anti-Nuclear Iran Rally in 2015. Nope. Not this day in 2016 [Cue choir of crickets]
Each delusional speaker outside the Japanese Consulate focused on the U.S. joining those countries that have disarmed or simply don’t have Nukes (yet).  13962698_1262222527129312_1089117670503828218_nDefense is a Crime. Peace through Disarmament! No Nukes. No Way. No How!

In the spirit of “NO MORE WAR”, there were plenty of hootenanny songs, as well as speeches. “Gonna lay down my sword and shield.” Okay. “Ain’t gonna study war no more, no more.” Again, okay….

And pithy anti-war memes.War is the Defeat of Humanity”, “WAR is NEVER the Answer”, “Peace Demands Action”, “Make Food Not War” , “BE HUMAN” and Apologize!

The most dynamic religion of the last hundred years has been leftism. Not Christianity and not Islam. Leftism.

Leftism has taken over the world’s leading educational institutions, the world’s news media, the world’s popular entertainment, and it has influenced Christianity (and Judaism) far more than Christianity (or Judaism) has influenced anything.

The pithiness continued with, People apologize cause governments can’t. It’s complicated.”, “DISARM NOW! followed closely by …. APOLOGIZE!         The speakers were introduced by Rachel Clark: Interpreter, global coordinator and a volunteer staff member of Peace Boat US New York office. From Pax Christi, Sisters, Gwen, Jean and RoseMarie Pace; Kate Alexander, PANYS (Peace Action NY State); Alice Slater, Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, a woman from the Granny Peace Brigade and a 2nd generation Hibakusha (survivor), Miss Miyako Taguchi.
Ms. Taguchi was presented with letters and flowers by the two Pax Christi Sisters, Jean and Gwen, and from Veterans For Peace, Dr. Tom Fasy, MD, a board certified pathologist with a longstanding interest in uranium toxicology.
In the Video Playlist, t
he transcribed statements of the speakers are placed under each video at you tube. [the street noise was not always helpful due to lunch-hour cars honking]

From the very wise, Dr. Thomas Sowell:CpzPWflUIAAHj63.jpg_largeYes, ending barbarism required force. And, at war’s end, the terms of surrender, Article 9, required that the Japanese Imperial war-machine DISARM.

Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution (日本国憲法第9条 Nihonkokukenpō dai kyū-jō ?) is a clause in the national Constitution of Japan outlawing war as a means to settle international disputes involving the state. The Constitution came into effect on May 3, 1947, following World War II.

But, even the strongly worded Article 9 has gone through some changes, 70 years later, making the “pacified” Left most unhappy.

Article 9 has been re-interpreted to allow for “collective self-defense.”Japanese forces will now be able to assist the U.S. and other allies if those allies were attacked, although there would still be limits on the scope and scale of Japanese assistance …. that Japan could now shoot down a North Korean missile fired at the U.S. and provide logistical support to South Korea if Pyongyang invaded, but could not deploy Japanese troops to Korea.

Today, 71 years after the A-bombs were dropped, the Japan of the 20th and 21st century seems to be much the better for the U.S. ending that brutal war.  But, such facts revealed can be oh, so inconvenient. (click picture to enlarge the protest mega-statement)nagasaki 2Should the A-bomb, the Nuclear Bomb, never have been created? Is it possible to rid the world of Nuclear power now that it exists? Are Nuclear Bans possible? Wise? Necessary?

A Pointless Anti-Nuclear Gesture

The paradox of nukes is that they are weapons of cataclysmic destructive force at the same time that they have proven to be a guarantee of peace. As the strategist Bernard Brodie wrote at the dawn of the nuclear age: “Thus far the chief purpose of our military establishment has been to win wars. From now on its chief purpose must be to avert them.” It is thanks in part to the advent of nuclear weapons that we have averted the total wars between great powers that made the first half of the 20th century a vast killing field. The paradox of nukes is that they have proven to be a guarantee of peace.

Our allies are freaked out about the prospect of no first use. They have long relied on our nuclear umbrella, and if it is being pulled back, countries like South Korea and Japan will need to reconsider their decisions to forswear nuclear weapons. This is why no first use would contradict President Obama’s opposition to nuclear proliferation, and make Global Zero — the disarmament movement’s goal of a world free of nuclear weapons — even more of a pipe dream.

After decades of indoctrination by the Howard Zinn/Bill Ayers/Saul Alinsky-John Deweys, can we hope to take back our schools? Our media? Our governments.

Or is it too late to repair our collective psyche? Their Mission Accomplished: “America Bad.” Period.
Come November, Can America “Hope to be Great Again”? us_flag_make_america_great_again_banner-r002282b5c5274cbfa7d92dfdc00b0762_jjzey_324                               The Future.  It’s a terrible thing to waste.

SEIU & a Japanese Nuclear Protest -2010- A look at things Nuclear (Then and Now)

Recently, I remembered taking pictures of this group of Japanese Nuclear War protestors gathering outside the SEIU (aka Commie) headquarters in NYC. (Another file I laid aside because I took the pictures with my old circa 2010 cell phone). With the threat of a Nuclear Iran, the time seemed right to post them.

It was May 4, 2010.They were going to the UN to protest at the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) Conference.

“The 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) met at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 3 to 28 May 2010.

Japanese Union “No Nukes” members posed with this banner before they left SEIU Headquarters for the march to the UN.

Found more info on this protest in 2010 at SEIU’s website:

“Meeting in the 1199SEIU Bread and Roses Gallery were members of the Japan Peace Committee, the Osaka Association for a Non-Nuclear Government and the Osaka Federation on Prefectural and Municipal Workers’ Unions.” More on the UN conference they came to protest:crop NPT UN
“The 2010 Review Conference
was generally considered a success because it reached consensus where the previous Review Conference in 2005 ended in disarray, a fact that many attributed to the U.S. President Barack Obama‘s commitment to nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament.
Some have warned that this success raised unrealistically high expectations that could lead to failure at the next Review Conference in 2015. [98]”

The 2010 protestors were armed with Nuke Facts (Link is a Must Read)
“NUKE FREE NOW!” We are robbing the future to pay for the unneeded weapons of the past.

Now is the time to stop fighting last century’s war.
Now is the time to reset our priorities.
Now is the time to invest in the people and the programs to get America back on track.

— from a letter by Rep. Ed Markey to the members of the Super Committee —Japan Good/United States Bad. NUCLEAR BOMBS Very Bad-unless you mention Iran or China – Then….it’s like… “Never Mind”.A slide show of pictures

Point of Information: Every year, Marxist sympathizers protest the bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki in 1945.Replica of the "Fat Man" nuclear bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, on August 9, 1945

In August 1945, during the final stage of the Second World War, the United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The two bombings, which killed at least 129,000 people, remain the only use of nuclear weapons for warfare in history.

(TSM) Historians at one time remembered that, until we dropped “The Bomb”, the war started by Japan, had no end in sight. Or at least it wasn’t coming soon enough.

FLEET STRIKES AS TOKYO ‘IGNORES’ TERMS; B-29 CHIEF NAMES 11 CITIES TO BE WIPED OUT (7/28/45)

During the day US bombers dropped thousands of leaflets on 12 Japanese cities warning civilians to “flee or perish.” July 28th, 1945 (SATURDAY)

“We knew how to fight and win wars back then. Entire cities destroyed. Not that I rejoice over that history, but a great general stated, and I paraphrase, “Anything less than total warfare is immoral.”

Microfilm-New York Times archives, Monterey Public Library (many archived news papers from this attack on Japan)

photo 0728-halsey4_zpsekyhjrfa.jpgIn 2015, as the anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki approaches, August 6 and 9th of 1945, the SEIU’s Peace and Justice Facebook chums are protesting the actions of the U.S. (NOT Japan).

“The history of the Japanese aggression
that lead the U.S. in to WW2, and their war atrocities during a war that seemed without end, brought these Atomic Bombings to fruition.”

Nope. Not interested in discussing Japan as the aggressor.

Five years after I saw the Japanese and SEIU Nuclear protestors, we now face a future threatened by Obama’s Folly –a Nuclear Iran —

However, they stress in their Peace & Justice flyer, “Today, after 70 years, nearly 16,000 nuclear weapons—94% of them held by the USA and Russia—continue to pose an intolerable threat to humanity and the danger of nuclear war is growing… The USA plans to spend a trillion dollars over the next thirty years “ modernizing” its nuclear arsenal. The human cost of this is immeasurable—to our prospects for global peace and to our confidence in human survival.”

Nation-wide, America is protesting a Nuclear Iran–Where is SEIU? Where are those Japanese protestors? Where is Peace and Justice? I saw none of them in Times Square at the “Stop Iran Now Rally” on July 22, 2015.Knowing that Iran is eager to annihilate Israel (with the United States and the rest of the world’s Infidels thrown in for ‘good’ measure) Obama and Kerry continue their support of a Nuclear Iran. (Cue *crickets* from the Left)SEIU must be okay with a Nuclear Iran and their “enrichment” program. I’ve come across NO protests against a Nuclear Iran outside their headquarters.

Iran also states that its enrichment program is part of its civilian nuclear energy program, which is allowed under Article IV of the NPT. The Non-Aligned Movement has welcomed the continuing cooperation of Iran with the IAEA and reaffirmed Iran’s right to the peaceful uses of nuclear technology.

Good Nukes vs Bad Nukes. The Radical Left clamors to protect the nuclear ‘rights’ of  Maniacs and Tyrants.
The P & J’s  are dedicated, as usual, to their “August Action”. (Facebook link here)

On Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 8 AM, Daniel Ellsberg, famed whistle blower and nuclear analyst, will return to Livermore Lab as a keynote speaker on the historic 70th anniversary of the US atomic bombing of Hiroshima. (BUT“What about a Nuclear Iran?)

2015 and the NPT Conference comes around again.

At the 2015 NPT Review Conference, States parties examined the implementation of the Treaty’s provisions since 2010…

The NPT (Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons) represents the only binding commitment in a multilateral treaty to the goal of disarmament by the nuclear-weapon States ..”

“Eight nations — China, France, India, Israel, Pakistan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States, have about 22,000 nuclear warheads (Russia and the US together have more than 90% of total nuclear weapons). nuclear map

Around 8,000 warheads are deployed and 2,500 are on high alert (ready to be launched within 20 minutes).”

Allen West said it for us all, July 22, 2015, at the“Stop Iran Now Rally. He spoke The Truth about the threat of a Nuclear Iran while, sadly, our government is blindly, or knowingly, pushing the U.S. (the World) towards a dreaded Dooms Day.

NOW IS the Time For All Good Men to Stand and FIGHT.

‘No Apologies For Hiroshima or Nagasaki’

The Japanese weren’t the victims in WWII; they were the bad guys. They were perfectly willing to create a Hell on earth as long as their Emperor got to share time with Hitler in the infernal palace and they were allowed to be his little worker demons torturing the rest of the planet. Don’t feel sorry for Japan because it got nuked; feel sorry for the all the innocent lives that were lost because of that nation’s murderous lust for power.
