Leftists demand #No Business With ICE : Dignity Not Detention (for illegals)

#NoBusinessWithICE: Action for Dignity Not Detention

On February 16, Marxist protestors held an all out march and direct action targeting a company (Thompson Reuters) that they claim profits at the expense of (illegal) immigrant lives.

“We DEMAND that private companies stop being complicit in the horrific violence against immigrant communities.”

“We DEMAND that private companies cancel all contracts with ICE and withdraw all support that allows the violent institution (ICE) to continue to carry out its bloody mission.”

“At the end of the day, private companies provide facilities, transportation, tech, research, and myriad other forms of support to this violent institution (ICE) almost completely under the radar.”
[Face Book]

So, once again the Marxists assembled on the steps of the famous NYC Public Library at Fifth Ave and 42nd Street; preaching to the passersby of the horrible treatment immigrant families (ILLEGALS) suffer under the racist TRUMP administration.

About an hour after I arrived, having taken a grab bag of photos criticizing Trump and company, I lost interest. (They do repeat themselves) Also, the speakers were boring, accented, and difficult to understand. Ad nauseum indictments of racist Republicans and greedy CEOs.

In the short video below, one speaker mentions COMMUNIST “freedom fighter”, Assata Olugbala Shakur . They honored her by repeating a chant she is known for:

Decided to forego the interminable wait for the march …. to a secret location … It’s a corporation, that we knew, but they with held the “who or where”. We had to wait. Wish I’d hung in since the march was a short hop to 42nd and 7th ave., where they proceeded to lock-down a major intersection.

Caught a few tweets and articles on the “shut the city down” maneuver (like that street action would get a response from Reuters.)[https://twitter.com/i/status/1229508038358454274]

[MSN.com] About 200 protesters marched from the New York Public Library to the headquarters of Thompson Reuters in Times Square on Sunday evening.

[WPIX 11] “The system of detention and deportation in the US would not be able to function without the cooperation with corporations,” said organizer Andy Ratto.

Next, for those activists who want to give sanctuary to illegals, a pledge:
Take the No Business With ICE Pledge [Face Book]

As ICE continues to target immigrant communities across the country, we must take action against the cities, schools, and corporations that do business with ICE. Every day, ICE depends on and receives support from mayors, local police departments, private tech companies, airlines, hospitals, and more to separate immigrant families. We say enough is enough. If you do business with ICE, then we won’t do business with you.

List of Corporations – that are to be harassed and shut down – because they have contracts and agreements with ICE – top 15

Note: if you choose to target a company, it is best not to demonize the workers, but rather demonize the CEO or the corporation itself. You will win more public support this way. [https://www.lahuelga.com]

NOW, some Good News from the Law and Order side of the divide: “ICE Rejects California Law, Arrests People At Courthouse” (Finally!)

”Our officers will not have their hands tied by sanctuary rules when enforcing immigration laws to remove criminal aliens from our communities,” David Jennings, ICE field officer director in San Francisco, said in a statement. ICE stated that California’s law does not supersede federal law and ”will not govern the conduct of federal officers to make arrests of removable alien inside the United States. [Sacramento CBS]

Sanctuary Passover Seder/Jericho Walk : Solidarity with Illegal Migrants – NYC

How is This Walk Different From All Other Walks: A Passover Seder & Jericho Walk in Solidarity with Immigrants Foley Square . April 5, 2018 – 10:15am – 11:00am

(This Walk? Different?) Just the same ol, same ol from the Sanctuary City Coalition, EXCEPT this time they did a Passover Seder; a foolish display opposed by NY-JDL.

During the holiday of Passover, the Jewish community invited people of all faiths to gather for a pre-walk Seder ritual, in which they sought to connect Jewish tradition’s commitment to ending oppression and to welcoming the stranger with the fight for immigrant rights today; gathering as an act of solidarity with the New Sanctuary Coalition and friends who are “at risk” for detention and deportation from ICE.

The sedar was organized and led by Rabbi Joshua Stanton, Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann and immigration attorney/Avodah alumna Rachel Davidson – in collaboration with Ravi Ragbir and the New Sanctuary Coalition.

The JDL successfully frustrated the lefties, particularly illegal felon Ravi Ragbir, who attempted to block the JDL from assembling  in a public park (see video)

Every Thursday, Ravi Ragbir and his New Sanctuary Coalition bring together faith leaders, immigration activists and community members to march in silence and pray outside 26 Federal Plaza — in solidarity with those ( illegals) whom they claim are “denied their Right to Remain”.

NO BORDERS USA- SI! (that’s their ticket)

Part 1 video – at 3:16 to 3:28  Ravi foolishly attempts to force the JDL (in a public park) to move away from the Sanctuary Sedar.

Ravi Ragbir (illegal felon) demanding Solidarity with Illegal Migrants.

Part 2 video. Ravi’s Passover Sanctuary Sedar demanded LIBERATION for all illegals.

The NY-JDL leaders asked: Should I bring matzah?  🙂

The sedar was followed by the Jericho Walk from 11:00 am-12:30pm, SEVEN times round and round  26 Federal Plaza (Foley Square is between the courts and Federal Plaza). I left: been to one seven times around- you’ve been to the ALL.

NYC Federal Plaza, DACA and the “Trump” Govt Shutdown

DACA supporters and the Govt Shutdown gathered for a presser just a few hours before the Democrats caved and ended Schumer’s Government Shutdown. January 22, 2018. Federal Plaza. NYC

The New Jewish Defense League (JDL) was also outside Federal Plaza demanding “Americans before Illegals” and “Vets before Illegals”.

FLICKR slide show of both sides.

Interestingly, these Hard Core Lefties continued their temper tantrum protest outside Schumer’s Brooklyn home later that evening. Though they still blamed Trump for the Schumer shutdown, they were LIVID that Schumer caved before securing (another) AMNESTY for ILLEGALS

Say YES to DACA. Yes to DREAMERS. Creating more illegal voters for the Democrat Party with each amnesty.

Part 1 video- It all began with chants, chants, chants (in Spanish, of course) and the MC, Ricardo Aca, informing us that he is a DACA recipient from Make The Road NY.

Part 2 video – Two Speakers- A Security Officer from the Statue of Liberty Island shared how she felt the “TRUMP” Government Shutdown would be affecting people like herself and Alice Fisher, founder & director of The Radical Age Movement spoke for NYC’s older adults in the same vein:

”Trump is hoping that older white people like me will turn on Dreamers, that we will buy into his bigoted and hateful plan. But seniors are wise, and we know better. Many of us are the children and grandchildren of another century’s dreamers…NYC’s older adults will not be duped by this administration…”

Part 3 video – Introductions by Make the Road NYDaniel Altschuler for NY City Councilman, Carlos Menchaca, who represents Council District 38.  He is New York State’s first Mexican-American elected official and Brooklyn’s first openly gay office holder.

Also included, from the New ACORN, Renata Pumarol. She is the Communications & Social Media Director at New York Communities for Change (NYCC). NYCC is a leading “progressive” organization in New York building “people-power” thru neighborhood, tenant and worker organizing.

Part 4- video – From Make The Road NY, a Spanish speaker (interpreted by Daniel Altschuler)…

… followed by an interview with Karen from the New Jewish Defense League (JDL),  making a brief statement of FACT to NY1.

They are never done. They will never stop til they have OPEN BORDERS.

“We Will Not Be Banned: The Broken Promise of Equal Justice” Hosted by CAIR-New York

July 4, 2017 – NOON- Fifth Floor Atrium-  #TakeTrumpTower

“We Will Not Be Banned: The broken promise of equal justice” Hosted by CAIR-New York

“CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.”

Speakers and partners included NY Day of Remembrance Committee, Jewish social justice contingent (Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, Jews Say No!, Jewish Voice for Peace) NY Civil Liberties Union, LatinoJustice, and T’ruah.

On July 4th, 2017 (Noon)  CAIR-NY sponsored a presser; a Muslim-led teach-in and rally in the Fifth Floor Atrium- a public space – in what they described as the “hideous” Trump Tower. (though later they chanted “Whose tower, OUR Tower”)

They claim, the purpose of the presser was to highlight how the United States has repeatedly broken her founding promises and (they claim) targeted groups on the basis of race, religion, or ideology.

The speakers insisted their communities have historically been targeted – from the U.S.’s internment of Americans of Japanese descent, to U.S.’s treatment of Puerto Rico, to President Trump’s Muslim Ban. So, CAIR-NY and their (social justice) partners used this day to reaffirm their commitment to that most “basic American tenet, “ALL are created equal“.

America’s 241st Independence Day, was marred by these protestors who claimed that President Trump stands in a long line of American leaders who sought political power by marginalizing and demonizing minority groups.

AS NOON approached, I arrived – looking for protestors.

11:55 I see barricades but no protestors; just empty pens. Odd. Then I saw ONE – no two – women in front of the doors to the tower.

That, too, was odd; verboten, actually, since a previous Trump Tower protest (on Aug 31, 2016) that BLOCKED entry to the Tower created more crowd control at the entrance.

Guess things have relaxed with time. And THEN I remembered, there is a Fifth Floor Public Space in the Tower.

” … part of an agreement Trump made in the 1970s […] an agreement in which a developer receives special permissions from the city in exchange for the inclusion … of spaces open to the general public.

The Lefties have protested there previously, testing the “public space right-to-assemble.”  SO, once I actually READ the sign the women were holding,   DIRECTIONS to the Fifth Floor Presser, I headed inside.

Went through security, bags, camera screened. Rode the elevator to the Fifth Floor with the Fox5 cameraman AND the very friendly, Albert Fox Cahn, CAIR–NY’s Legal Director! Then,  VOILA – the atrium …

The protestors have gathered here for CAIR’s Independence Day Presser.

Familiar faces, too, like Donna Nevel (Jewish Voice For Peace).

Labor Union Rabbi Michael Feinberg (Interfaith Worker Justice) .

Soon, Nevel and Feinberg put out warnings on ME to CAIR’s Mr. Albert Cahn, who seemed to regret his cheery greeting in the elevator. NERVOUS I guess, cause I –  the ENEMY- was in his – CAIR’s – very sacred – PUBLIC – space.

Now, he asked me who was I with. What media. And another person wanted to know if I was a volunteer. Really? Come on, guys, first thing I signed-in as media. ALL are WELCOME here, right?

All proceeded normally, so it seemed, with cameras in place; waiting for the speakers. (2 pictures David Moriya )

Video: Then the MC made his welcoming speech. All was calm.

However, as soon as the first refugee speaker (Poor William) began (all would be refugee/emigres sharing their stories) the JDL counter-protest began, too.

Turning ALL of their Alinsky-tactics back at them, the JDL caused palpitations amongst the Lefties who “discreetly” scrambled with their signs and banners to cover up the very mobile  JDL flag and a Blue Line Flag.

The first actual speaker was “Poor William from Iran”. He spoke calmly and succinctly about why he fled Iran (he’s Jewish) and his uncertain status in the U.S.  While  in the back ground, the JDL flag was very busy.

VIDEO – William from Iran

The Blue Line Flag stayed put in one corner, not easy to see, but that did not deter the Lefties. They seemed MORE upset by this flag. (So much for grateful patriotism.) Of of course – President TRUMP.

I stayed. Covered all the speakers. And SO DID THE JDL. They stayed, too. Heard later that the CAIR hosts asked the police to remove the “INTERLOPERS”. But, this was met with a  firm, NO. Public Space. (Right Back atcha, CAIR!) Which then accounts for the nice little speech the MC made mid-presser.

“Let’s keep our eyes up here- at the podium. Ignore the  protestors. They have a right to be here. This is America. but, let’s focus on why we are here.”

Leaving the atrium, I was surprised to see educator, Debbie Almontaser.

Almontaser – of the infamous Khalil Gibran Public School Madrassa and Intifada NYC T-shirt. (Picture/link 2007)

Currently, Dr. Almontaser sits on Public Advocate Tish JamesJewish, Muslim, and Sikh Task Force to Combat Hate. Almontaser’s first step when leading a session she creates a community agreement about how to interact during the session. For example:

Approach others with respect
Withhold judgment
Don’t make identity-based assumptions
“Listen to learn”; use “generous listening”
Accept differences
Be aware of privilege and intersectionality
Assume good intentions
Don’t take it personally if someone says you’ve said something offensive

Debbie (Almontaser) was having fun sharing some very animated selfies.

The Green Hat fake legal team – standing at the door – looking lost  next to real police

And Patriots who had been in the back were now at the exit, continuing to speak their minds in SUPPORT of Pres. Trump.

As the CAIR Lefties tried to leave – smug with success – they had to walk through the WE WON, YOU LOST Patriots! Again.  (fun.)

These malcontents who masquerade as patriots, these traitors, who have snookered people like Poor William from Iran; conning them into working with organizations like CAIR (organizations that are committed to deconstructing our government,  America) They do not intend to fade away.

But, WE have met their challenge.

We will not be Silent. We TOO have NOT forgotten. WE WON. YOU LOST.

BUT- all was not over.  As I walked to the subway, about two dozen protesters marched passed me to to Tower’s entrance on Fifth Avenue, yelling anti-fascist chants.

Perhaps  now,  THIS was :

…. til NEXT TIME….

America’s Immigrants Celebrate/Support Trump ELECTION DAY 2016

Looking for hope on the streets of Manhattan as ELECTION DAY 2016 looms. I covered two pre-election NYC Saturday events – both connected to immigration- that left me feeling hopeful. positive. encouraged. (even though the next three days will be nail-biters)
PHASE ONE-
Noon. A nation-wide- Stolen Lives Remembrance Walk, for those MURDERED by illegal aliens. remembrance-project

They gathered at Columbus Circle. A quietly dedicated and diverse group that respectfully engaged those who passed by.

Since this is the last Saturday to get-out-the-vote, some had to leave, before the walk, for campaign obligations. But, while they gathered, it was an opportunity to share their message.

Those who could stay carried Trump/Pence and Women 4 Trump signs lead by Old Glory and a two-sided Remembrance Quilt. Each quilt chose three victims to represent the thousands murdered each year.

Diane Atkins, the NYC organizer
, is well spoken; a polite and fearless leader. No matter who spoke to them she was able to explain why they were there and why Hillary is NOT the candidate to represent those murdered … as well as dealing with some persistent security guards who just didn’t want them in front of their building.

Respecting our borders. The Rule of Law. Two of many duties – to protect and serve- ignored by the Obama presidency. And Hillary – BENGHAZI revealed – means saying NO to the “Hildabeast” presidency. It is imperative. Trump is the FAR better candidate for HOPEFUL change. He puts America First.

As Diane and many of us know already, ALL New Yorkers are not behind HRC. Talk to the passersby on the streets, there are thumbs up from those who happily SUPPORT Trump. I left, encouraged, knowing I would see them at the end of their walk at Trump Tower.

PHASE TWO- TRUMP TOWER and IMMIGRANTS FOR TRUMP.

I never expected this. JOY. Dancing. Flag waving. They even handled an obnoxious protest-crashing Turd-Shirted fellow…. with a smile and a thumbs up FOR Trump. “Keep on dancin’ – takin’ the HIGH ROAD.” Happy to be in this country: Immigrants who support TRUMP!

video 3

As I left, the Stolen Lives Remembrance Walk was about two blocks from joining up with the Immigrants for Trump Festive event. I hoped all went well for them. Happily it did. From Diane Atkins, “Yes, we were able to join the crowd in front of Trump Tower and had a great time. One of the organizers of the Christian Immigrants for Trump actually remembered me from a town hall during the primaries, and he asked me to speak on the microphone. At the end we all prayed and even danced, lol. It was awesome! Then my friend Michele and I went into Trump Tower to make GOTV calls till 9pm.” GO TEAM AMERICA!
