The Celebrate Israel Parade (2011)
There was the ubiquitous Neturtei Karta.Very vocal. Faces twisted in anger as they moaned at the parade claiming there should be no Israel. I was pleased to overhear a father telling his young son, as he referred to these strange men (the NKUSA), ” They are confused. We should pray for them.”
At 59th St and 5th Avenue,the usual assortment of anti-Israel protestors and Leftist Sympathizers stood with the Neturei Karta in what was now double-layered pens

… as they mocked and berated the parade….
The anti-Israel protestors even put on a bit of street theatre (rehearsed of course) as this fellow in green aggressively charged at the parade. (He stepped into the double barricaded area…. forbidden territory).
The police responded immediately.
BUT, this guy has an agenda; getting a photo-op (so he goes right back)
The green-hatted legal beagle (most likely not even an attorney) dictates a play-by-play into a digital recorder .
The ‘Pali’ has “VERY concerned friends” (lead by commie agitator, Bill Doar)
Friends who wailed at the police , “Let our comrade go!” (with more great photo-ops /sarc intended)
SO, and this part is particularly interesting, the police banished the angry ‘palestinian’ from the pen. Sending him into the crowd going to the parade….
No big deal…. “It’s all in the game.” …
There were some unusual participants in this year’s “CELEBRATION of Israel Parade” (no more “Salute”. Was it too militaristic?) At any rate, J Street and ‘Jewish Voice for Peace’ and ‘Jews Against the Occupation’ marched in the parade, saying they support Israel while ignoring these FACTS:
Support Israel? Yet, these JEWISH groups characterized Israel as an “OCCUPIER”!
Thankfully, their presence was a blip in a wonderful, joyful day of CELEBRATING ISRAEL!
Curtis Sliwa and his Guardian Angels challenged those calling for the destruction of Israel by proudly marching passed them in SUPPORT of Israel

Something observed walking to the West Side on 57th Street, after the parade…LOTS of Sanitation Trucks loaded with sand blocking the intersections
This was like security for the President as well as the U.N.visit of AH’JAD (The-Evil-Dwarf)
Clearly this parade had become a high risk event.
But, Islamic terrorists and Commie agitators couldn’t rain on this fabulous parade. Everyone in support of Israel was spirited, proud and feisty.
FULL of smiles and joy. It was infectious and easily trumped those Jew-hating anti-Semites standing at 59th Street and 5th avenue.
