At the latest Community Board 1 meeting in Lower Manhattan, concerning the Ground Zero mosque site, Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer were among many members of the community who spoke to the committee; once again enumerating the many reasons the mega mosque at 45-47 Park Place should not be approved and the current building should be granted landmark status.

WE CAN STILL PROTEST THE GROUND ZERO MOSQUE AT COMMUNITY BOARD#1
Community Board 1 meets on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at Dance New Amsterdam, 280 Broadway, 2nd Floor (entrance on Chambers and Elk Streets). Despite reports that the vote was unanimous, it was not. 29 voted for the Islamic supremacist mosque, 4 against, and 9 abstentions.
We need to be there! ALL OF US. It is critical that the world sees we will not go away and that we won’t back down. We need to be orderly and civil, but we need to let these people know we will not back down. The LPC is expected to vote at one of its upcoming meetings, probably in August.
In Staten Island, an average of 150 members of the community have protested every Sunday for six weeks against the planned sale of the convent building to the Muslim American Society (MAS), the public face of the Muslim Brotherhood. There is are reams of documentation tying the leaders of the MAS with Hamas and other terrorist organizations.
“America is experiencing an Islamist cultural-political offensive designed to undermine and destroy our civilization. Sadly, too many of our elites are the willing apologists for those who would destroy them if they could. No mosque. No self deception. No surrender. France bans-the-burqa! NO burqas to be worn in public or the woman will be fined.
But, Amnesty International, in the first half of the video, thinks France is out-of-line and at 1:56 the young burqa-clad woman couldn’t agree more as she “complies” with the law by instructing others in “How to avoid the French ban on burqa”
But, the glimmer fades. “The Council of Europe has said itis opposed to bans on veils and that they deny women a basic right.”
And the British Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in David Cameron’s coalition cabinet couldn’t agree more: “Caroline Spelman Supports the Burqa” .

NYC Councilman Oddo confirmed the NO vote by the Board of Trustees.
News just broke that the Catholic Church has reversed and and canceled the sale of the convent in Midland Beach to MAS.
This is now a textbook case on how to fight Islamic supremacists.

STATEMENT ON SAINT MARGARET MARY PARISH
Father Keith Fennessy, pastor of Saint Margaret Mary parish on Staten Island, announced in June that after careful consideration he was withdrawing his support for the planned sale of the parish convent to the Muslim American Society.
The trustees of the parish have met, as legally required under New York State law, and voted to ratify the pastor’s decision.
The Muslim American Society has been informed that the sale of the convent will not take place.
The Archdiocese of New York has enjoyed a good relationship with the Islamic community in the past, and looks forward to continued dialogue, friendship, and understanding in the future.
It is also our prayer that unity will now return to the parish and to the Midland Beach community.

NEW YORK—The Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) demonstrated against the Turkish Embassy in Washington DC on July 20th, 2010 for the entire business day, to mark the 36-year anniversary of the illegal Turkish invasion of Cyprus that began on July 20, 1974. Greek-Cypriot demonstrators from the DC area and from as far away as Florida and New York participated. The Greek-Cypriot demonstration was helped by Armenian community supporters, (whose people are an integral part of Cyprus) and suffer from the ongoing illegal Turkish-military-occupation, and by pro-Israel activists. The Greek-Cypriot demonstration applauded American celebrity Jennifer Lopez’s “NO” to Turkish terrorism.Protest slogans emphasized the Turkish Crimes against the Greek-Cypriot people and the brutality of the illegal Turkish invasion, and ongoing illegal Turkish military-occupation.
Many diplomats and journalists took pictures and videos of the demonstration, and diplomatic staff from the nearby Embassies of India, Japan and South Korea voiced their admiration of our commitment to justice and human rights by asking for our flyers and information about the Turkish Crimes committed in Cyprus.
GUNAY EVINCH AND THE TURKISH EMBASSY HITLER YOUTH A counter demonstration was staged and closely supervised by Gunay Evinch, of the law firm Evinch and Saltzman. (Gunay is holding the sign in picture below) Gunay Evinch is widely acknowledged as “the lawyer of the Turkish Embassy.”
Gunay Evinch has defended Turkey from American lawsuits by Greek-Cypriot Americans, he is the President of the Turkish Lobby. Gunay Evinch is a promoter of Armenian genocide denial within the United States and the source of Turkish invasion of Cyprus denial propaganda for Turkey in America.
The main speaker for the Turkish Embassy counter demonstrators (who was witnessed as receiving help and consulted with Gunay Evinch) repeatedly made the Hitler salute and shouted “Heil Hitler” towards pro-Israel activists and the Greek-Cypriot community.
The Turkish Embassy staff also participated and helped GUNAY EVINCH AND THE TURKISH EMBASSY HITLER YOUTH who also barked out to the Greek-Cypriot community “Turkish soldiers raped your mothers” and further committed hate crimes against women by making obscene gestures with his genitalia and his megaphone.

The videos of the Turkish Embassy Hitler Salute should not at all be surprising, the Hitler book “Mein Kampf” is a runaway bestseller in Turkey, and Turkey has strong ties with anti-Semitic terrorist organizations such as Hamas (classified by the US government as a terrorist organization) The wildly popular anti-Semitic “Valley of the Wolves” movie and television series in Turkey falsely claims that Jews and Americans “harvest organs” from Muslims in Iraq.

Earlier today, Mayor Bloomberg responded to my comments about the planned mosque at Ground Zero by suggesting that a decision not to allow the building of a mosque at that sacred place would somehow violate American principles of tolerance and openness.
No one is disputing that America stands for — and should stand for — religious tolerance. It is a foundation of our republic. This is not an issue of religious tolerance but of common moral sense. To build a mosque at Ground Zero is a stab in the heart of the families of the innocent victims of those horrific attacks. Just days after 9/11, the spiritual leader of the organization that wants to build the mosque, Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf, suggested that blame be placed on the innocents when he stated that the “United States’ policies were an accessory to the crime that happened” and that “in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the USA.” Rauf refuses to recognize that Hamas is a terrorist organization dedicated to the destruction of our ally, Israel, and refuses to provide information about the sources of funding for the $100 million mosque. Rauf also plays a key role in a group behind the flotilla designed to provoke Israel in its justifiable blockade of Gaza. These are just a few of the points Americans are realizing as New York considers the proposed mosque just a stone’s throw away from 9/11’s sacred ground.
I agree with the sister of one of the 9/11 victims (and a New York resident) who said: “This is a place which is 600 feet from where almost 3,000 people were torn to pieces by Islamic extremists. I think that it is incredibly insensitive and audacious really for them to build a mosque, not only on that site, but to do it specifically so that they could be in proximity to where that atrocity happened.”
Many Americans, myself included, feel it would be an intolerable and tragic mistake to allow such a project sponsored by such an individual to go forward on such hallowed ground. This is nothing close to “religious intolerance,” it’s just common decency.
