UPDATE NYC(1-03-10) Stop Charles Barron and his thugs (write Christine Quinn NOW)

To all concerned New Yorkers, Patriots, and fighters for higher educational standards we have a fight in our hands to rescue New York City from the race-hustlers and political horse- traders in our City Council.

Tell Speaker Quinn to Remove Councilman Barron’s Chair! https://i0.wp.com/www.lgbtqnation.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/Christine-Quinn.jpg?resize=177%2C177

The Rev. Al Sharpton and his minions were out on the steps of City Hall on Wednesday, December 29, 2009, threatening action should Council Speaker Christine Quinn fail to re-appoint Councilman Charles Barron as chairman of the Council Higher Education Committee. See “Sharpton’s Warning” in the Daily News. But this reprehensible race hustler claims that he and his fringe group of thugs represent “A broad cross-section in the majority of this city.”
In the NY daily News article Sharpton makes the outrageous claimsthat “…. taking revenge on the councilman because he dared to challenge the speaker would set a bad example for students in the city.

“You can’t preach merit to the students and then have less than merit for the standard of the chairmanship of the higher education committee,” said Sharpton, who again expressed support for Barron’s call to remove the power to allocate committee chairmanships from the speaker’s office.
“It is our hope that Mr. Barron will be speaker, but he certainly should not be penalized based on politics,” Sharpton added.

In fact, the tenure of Charles Barron in the NYC Council has been one of vile anti-American, anti-Israel as well as antisocial behavior, from his first day petitioning for the removal of a painting of Thomas Jefferson in City Hall, and calling our Pledge of Allegiance a “lie” to his recent public tantrum commandeering the stage at the solemn 9-11 groundbreaking ceremony for CUNY’s Fiterman Hall destroyed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

Speaker Quinn needs to be urged to remove Councilman Barron’s Chairmanship of the Council of Higher Education Committee .

The following link (of videos and a detailed report) is a reminder of the shameful example set by Barron  in his official capacity as Chairman of the higher Education Committee

We heard from several outraged Council-members that Quinn will submit to Barron and the race-hustler, Al Sharpton since Sharpton has threatened Quinn in typical thuggly fashion that she is to re-appoint Barron… or else!!

Yet, Charles Barron is not qualified to be Chair of the Higher Education Committee. Christine Quinn should act in the best interests of NYC and remove him from this prestigious position during the January re-appointments. We cannot allow opportunistic Al Sharpton and a handful of vocal race hustlers to be the only voices heard in New York City. Urge Speaker Quinn to act on merit, civility and fairness and not cave in to the “warnings” of a marginal group of shake-down artists.

Starting this Monday, January 4, 2010, we need to flood her office with our honest civil-minded voices. Urge Speaker Quinn to do the right thing for NYC and the state of higher education and end Barron’s tenure as chair of the Higher Education Committee!!

The tenure of Charles Barron in the NYC Council has been one of vile anti-American, anti-Israel as well as antisocial behavior, from his first day petitioning for the removal of a painting of Thomas Jefferson in City Hall, and calling our Pledge of Allegiance a “lie” to his recent public tantrum commandeering the stage at the solemn 9-11 groundbreaking ceremony for CUNY’s Fiterman Hall destroyed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

We must fight back and make our voices heard to Speaker Quinn as well as our own Council-members. Let them know they are not alone. We stand with them!

Below is a sample letter:

Council Speaker Christine Quinn

224 West 30th St. (Suite 1206)

New York, NY 10001

Phone: (212) 564-7757

Fax: (212) 564-7347

Dear Speaker Quinn,

I was distressed to read the threats from Rev. Al Sharpton and his minions regarding Councilman Barron’s Chairmanship of the Council Higher Education Committee. I understand your difficult position upon hearing Sharpton’s warning, claiming to represent “a broad cross-section in the majority of this city” who will not tolerate Barron’s removal.

I write to urge you to act in the best interests of New York City and the academic community by ending his tenure as chairman, during the upcoming committee restructuring. Rev. Sharpton’s strong-arm threats do not represent a broad cross-section of New York City. The majority of decent New Yorkers, and the dedicated educators who built the CUNY system into the exceptional world-class institution that it is today, will not tolerate keeping such an incompetent, repugnant person in this prestigious seat.

You are well aware of the Councilman’s outrageous behavior petitioning for the removal of a painting of Thomas Jefferson in City Hall, and entertaining murderous dictator Robert Mugabe at City Hall, as well as his recent public tantrum commandeering the stage at the solemn 9-11 groundbreaking ceremony for CUNY’s Fiterman Hall. However the main concern is his outmoded style of confrontational politics from a bygone era which are completely unnecessary in today’s climate of pervasive diversity and high academic achievement by all ethnic minorities. He is still living in the days of violent clashes of the 1960’s when CUNY officials caved in to the demands of radical black and Hispanic student groups for “open admissions” which destroyed the reputation of the “poor man’s Harvard” turning CUNY into a worthless diploma mill.

Decades of dedication and hard work have restored the high academic standards to CUNY with concurrent rising minority enrollment who now graduate with degrees highly regarded in the marketplace. Charles Barron has no place in the governing of this respectable institution and his continued tenure would only hurt the higher standards that CUNY has attained. We urge you to act on behalf of all New Yorkers, on the basis of merit and civility and discontinue Barron’s position as chairman of the Higher Education Committee.

Sincerely,

xxxx xxxx
