Anti-Israel/Anti-American Leftists in Times Square (again)

Update with Video – Part 1 (in Times Square)

Part 1-  “…the First Anniversary of the Israeli-U.S. Massacre, the People of Gaza Need Your Solidarity” was December 27, 2009 (at 1 PM) when the International Action Center kicked-off another of their hate-Israel and anti-American protests in Times Square.

“Joyfully” assaulting the Christmas tourists and others getting ready to greet the New Year by LOUDLY blasting their anti-Israel screeds all over 42nd Street.

They advertised that the International Action Center was joined by Al-Awda NY the Palestine Right to Return Coalition, the Arab Muslim American Federation, the MAS Freedom Foundation, American Muslims for Palestine, Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, Dec. 12 Movement, New York City Labor Against the War and many others.

Nothing new. No new faces even , although it was interesting to observe Obama and Company take the heat (BDS has turned in to ODS)

There were stalwart supporters of Israel at Times Square and also at the Israeli Consulate. (apparently this was a fast day which  was why so many others weren’t able to join the counter-rally.)

The whole group then marched from Times Square to the Israeli Consulate via 6th avenue and then East on 48th street(passing Radio City Music Hall) Part of their plan, apparently, was to assault as many tourists as they could by turning off 42nd street(which was a more direct path to the consulate). They wrote how they would “march through the crowded holiday streets to the Israeli “mission”.” And also, “We will say the blockade must end, the flow of U.S. arms and dollars to Israel must stop and Israeli generals and politicians must be prosecuted for war crimes. (Have no idea if this next item happened: “George Galloway is expected to address the Times Square rally by telephone.”)

More rallies will take place in Chicago where the US Palestine Community Network, the Palestine Solidarity Group, Code Pink and others are organizing a Chicago Stands with Gaza rally on Monday, Dec. 30 at 5:30 pm at Grace Place, 637 S. Dearborn Avenue. Get out and counter them if you are in the area!!
