… state Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said Sarsour’s activisim – and her support of Sharia Law – makes her unfit to by the speaker at the June commencement.
“She is someone who associates with radical Islamists; supports them; shows support for them. She is someone who has said, clearly, she thinks throwing rocks at cars in Israel is a good thing,” Hikind said.
Hikind was referring to a tweet Sarsour put out on Oct. 11, 2015, showing a young boy apparently throwing rocks at Israelis with the caption saying, “the definition of courage.”
Anti-Israel, pro-Sharia Law leftist activist Linda Sarsour will deliver the commencement speech at the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate School of Public Health on June 1.
CUNY is a public university that is paid for by taxpayer funds.
“I am delighted to confirm that Linda Sarsour will indeed speak at our June 1 commencement at the Apollo Theater,” Barbara Aaron, chief of staff to CUNY Graduate School of Public Health dean Ayman El-Mohandes, told The Daily Caller.
A Muslim woman (LINDA SARSOUR) who has referred to “Zionist trolls” and lauded the “courage” of of rock-throwing Palestinians will deliver this year’s keynote address at the commencement ceremony of a New York City university.
Linda Sarsour is listed as a featured speaker for the June 1, 2017, graduation at CUNY’s Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy, according to the school’s website.

Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, says it is “nuts” that a taxpayer-funded institution like CUNY would invite a supporter of Shariah law to speak, CBS New York reported.
“She is someone who associates with radical Islamists; supports them; shows support for them. She is someone who has said, clearly, she thinks throwing rocks at cars in Israel is a good thing,” Hikind told the station. “I mean, it’s just nuts. It makes no sense. It’s crazy to have this woman be the person who’s going to speak to the students.”

“For a champion of hate to be speaker at a commencement is intolerable – Sarsour is an outrageous choice,” Rabbi Meyer May, Executive Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, told The Algemeiner. “I would think a school of public health would find someone who actually speaks to public health issues, not someone who advocates (Islamic) sharia law.”
Sarsour clearly, by her own vulgar, hate speech, crosses the line from alleged protester to hate monger against Jews, Israel and “Zionists.” Her calls for the annihilation of Israel and delight and encouragement when Palestinian Arab children kills Jews should, in a sane, decent world, disqualify her to be a commencement speaker for our students.
Your Dean, hiding under “academic freedom of speech” cowardly defends his morally bankrupt choice. Academic freedom also includes choosing a speaker who is qualified, who does not issue hate speech, who is a role model for us. Sarsour is none of these. Academic freedom also means academic responsibility.
I urge you to find your moral courage, initiate a petition to rescind her speech, and apologize to all for your morally bankrupt choice. If we do not stand against Jew hate and pre-genocidal Jew hate speech, we are complicit.
Haven’t the Jewish people suffered enough? Regardless of your “politics”, having this hate monger speak makes each and every one of you part of it. Is this the legacy you want for your children? Is this the legacy you are leaving for the 6 million Jews who were butchered just because they were Jews? Only seventy or so years, post Holocaust, you are choosing a speaker who openly demonizes Jews and Israel and calls for an end to the Jewish state. Are there no other erudite, fair minded, articulate speakers to choose from?
Your Dean has said he is looking forward to her speech, and ignoring how insulting, hateful and upsetting this choice is to Jews, all who are fair minded and who recall the evils of WWII, not to mention the current day hate speech against Jews of the Palestinian Arabs whom she applauds.
Have you all lost your way? What kind of an example does this set for young people going out into the world to be our leaders? When they come for the Jews, you are next. That should be the lesson from history we all learned. Apparently your Dean has not.
It is your moral responsibility to stand tall, demand he rescind this disgrace, and protest inside the auditorium. Stand with your backs to her while she speaks. Find your moral courage. If others did this, the Holocaust would never have happened in the first place. G. Weiner
