Some people are wondering if the WH set this whole thing up to either cover their Fast & Furious-style gunrunning in Libya, or Stevens was supposed to be held hostage so that bho could arrange his release just before the election. I still want to get to the bottom of how & when did they become aware of the video that they immediately claimed was responsible & who was it that claimed it indeed was the cause of the riot in Egypt. That they pulled some lousy, obscure video out of thin air (only had less than 500 hit at the time of the riot) doesn’t sit right with me. There are plenty of anti-islam videos on the internet – why this particular one? Who tipped them off? If the film maker was a Christian or Jew we’d know all about him by now. But we know nothing. They whisked him off directly, in the middle of the night, into oblivion.

Senators McCain and Roberts have this right. Congress needs to come together and flesh this out. There are too many incongruencies. IF, in fact, Obama ordered that every effort be made to provide aid as he says he did; why was no aid rendered? Did Panetta make the call…if so, he should be fired for disobeying the President. Why wasn’t the Counter Terrorism Team convened immediately afterward? Why the push to blame the whole thing on a reportedly profane and discriminating video, that really had nothing to do with it?
There are too many “whys” and not enough answers. The biggest one being, “why isn’ the media all over this?” Everyone needs to put their differences aside on this issue and get down to the truth. To the press – STOP with the neo-con/liberal bias arguments and do your job. This is a ligitimate story and if you dig just a litle bit…you could be the next Woodward and Bernstein. There was/is a blatant attempt to deceive the public on this event…go figure out who is responsible and why!
I watched both Senators interviewed last night…”we” can’t keep ignoring the fact that for whatever reason:
(1) security was not increased after it had been asked for time and again due to the rising AQ presence
(2) the engagement lasted 7 hours with NO response to 3 defined calls for assistance except for the teams locally who “defied orders”
(3) SOMEONE gave the order NOT to provide assistance…and we don’t know who that was (whoever it was is a coward and knows nothing of being a leader)
(4) the were multiple video feeds from assets inthe area that provided a grim front-row seat of the events as they unfolded.
None of these things were disputed by the administration and yet none of the questions wrapped in these facts have been answered…
for me the biggest is WHO gave the order NOT to send assistance? As a veteran I am ashamed of the non-response. To those CIA team members who went in despite being told not to…thank you for keeping the faith and not letting your country or those you saved down. You honor the memory of the those we lost. If Obama is re-elected, I see an impeachment hearing in his future.
