Another genocide committed by the Turks. ..
The speakers were Armenian, Assyrian and Greek. All spoke of the cover up of Turkish genocides.
All were there to remind those passing by that this genocide really did happen and sadly, continues today.
But, our government is allowing Turkey to buy our silence; to deny their genocidal acts. Obama and Clinton: Shame on you.
THIS HELLENIC GENOCIDE MEMORIAL WAS HELD OPPOSITE THE UN IN NEW YORK on April 6, 2010 (video may still be processing)
The event is supporting:
– Worldwide Affirmation of the Genocide of Hellenes (Greeks) perpetrated by Turkey and the Young Turk Party in Thrace, Anatolia, and Asia Minor.
– Recognition of the ongoing cultural genocide of Thracian Hellenes (Greeks).
Speakers included the President of the Hellenic Organization of University Graduates of America HOUGA, the Pan-Pontian Federation USA and CANADA President and officials, and members and officials of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York.

Slide show of Memorial:
Our history books must tell the truth about Turkey and the systematic genocide commited against the Greeks, the Armenians and the Assyrians. Demand an end to revisionist history.
BTW: As we left the Memorial and walked only a block and a half North….saw this Turkish Center….wonder if any one dropped by the Memorial ….

Following the conclusion of the event Mr. Nikolaos Taneris, President of the Pan Thracian Union of America “Orpheus” and Mr. Ioannis Fidanakis, former President and board member of the Pan Thracian Union of America “Orpheus” took the ceremonial funereal wreath for the innocent victims of the Greek Genocide to the Greek Consulate in New York on 69 E. 79 Street in Manhattan. To our dismay, when the Greek diplomats saw our wreath and the pamphlet “GREEK GENOCIDE IN THRACE: A CASE STUDY” they quickly bowed their heads and scurried away and hid from sight. Not even a thank you, or an acknowledgment was made for the innocent victims of the Greek Genocide by the diplomats or representatives of Greece in New York. Flowers for the innocent victims of the Greek Genocide of 1914-1923, are for the Greek diplomats of New York, Unwanted Flowers.
Mr. Kristis Ciakas has shot a video of the Unwanted Flowers, which may be submitted to short film festivals, and for now is available on you tube, it is titled….Unwanted Flowers.
