From Lonegan to Labate: Sean Hannity “Shame on you” (UPDATE added)

An UPDATE  and as is so often the case….all is not always as it seems. We very much appreciate this clarification and will leave the post up so both sides can be read. Thank you  CSA.

This is a reprint from the CSA Meetup site thread dated April 1st, 2010:

Let’s not blame Hannity for decisions made by the Suffolk County Republican Party. Hannity knows he made a mistake by becoming involved and then attempted to level the playing field by mentioning Steve Labate on his radio show at least a half dozen times.

I talked to Republican leaders who admitted that the vote was close and that the nomination was a tough call. To blame this on Hannity, however, is not fair. Hannity assured Republican leaders that he would support either candidate. If you feel the process was not fair, please take it out on those who actually made the decision.”

The leaders involved were:

John Lavalle, Suffolk County Republican Chairman
Toni Tepe, Huntington Town Republican Chairman
Tony Pancella, Babylon Town Republican Chairman
Dan Ellis, Smithtown Republican Chairman
Frank Tantone, Islip Town Republican Chairman

These people — NOT HANNITY — made the decision.

Anyone who wants to make their feelings known should contact these people.

Thanks.

History repeats itself or at least Sean Hannity has…. So maybe it’s time for another PROTEST like this one held in support of Steve Lonegan on May 26, 2009.

Flash forward to March 2010 and Stephen Labate, a staunch conservative, with strong Tea Party support who was the front-runner for the Republican nomination for Congress in New York’s 2nd Congressional District.

Stephen Labate

But, Hannity decided to promote his friend, John Gomez, as the ideal candidate (even though Hannity admits he didn’t know who was running before getting involved.) Thanks a heap, Sean. Due to your ‘ignorance’ the 2nd District has been forced into a needless primary.

  1. thank you for posting this – i will send the link to my Lonegan friends in NJ when i get home tomorrow.

i agree that another protest just might be in order!!

  2. You need to realize that this decision was not made by Sean Hannity, but by the town leaders in the Suffolk County republican party.

Hannity did change his tune when he found out about Labate and recanted and gave Steve air time on his radio show.

  5. Lt. Col. Stephen Labate is a wonderful fiscally conservative man of high moral character. I know him to be an honest hard working person who loves his country, his family and his friends. I would be very honored to have him as my congressman.

  6. Please link my blog with yours. It is dedicated to getting Steve Labate elected to Congress
